About

Dani Kwan is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose research-based practice incorporates craft, design, and digital technologies. Kwan’s interests lie in the generative dialogue between art and science–including identity, ecology, and communication. Their current body of work combines textiles with geologic systems in collaboration with geologists, botanists, and material research scholars.

Their work has been shown at galleries and institutions throughout Southern California including TAG Gallery in Los Angeles, the Betteravia Gallery in Santa Maria, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. They have received grants from the Ventura County Arts Council, the University of California, and were most recently awarded artist residencies at UC Santa Barbara and Grand Canyon National Park.

Kwan teaches art and photography at CSU Channel Islands and Ventura Community College.
