ONGOING OBSERVATIONS

7A JOURNALS

OBJECTIVE

We will be honing our observation and self-reflection skills with 'Journals'.
Entering into spaces that we don't normally find ourselves in and looking.

Each journal should contain:

  1. A daily entry of something (action, object, moment, person, place, etc.) that caught your attention and held it. I encourage you to analyze why and what meaning it brings you.

  2. Notes on and response to a work or works shown in lecture (weekly).

  3. Notes and responses to artwork seen outside of class (weekly), such as Glass Box Gallery, MCASB, Women’s Center, Multicultural Center, Arts & Lectures, etc.

  4. Your project ideas, warm-ups we do in class!

(Caveat: No reviews of media, like popular movies or musicians.)

WHAT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE?

Feel free to experiment and play...
make them your own! I encourage you to sketch,
include photos, scans, etc.
